The person behind the practice

I came to real estate from seventeen years in the Army and a career in engineering.

I go by Jamie. I am a Colorado real estate broker associate, an engineer by training, and an investor who owns rental property in Colorado and Georgia. The practice runs the way those three disciplines run, on the record and with the figures attached.

Practice principles in writing

The principles that govern every engagement can each be checked against the record.

The practice runs on three disciplines, and each of them is a matter of record: seventeen years of Army service, an engineering education, and the ownership of rental property in Colorado and Georgia. The principles below follow from those disciplines, and each one can be checked against the documents an engagement produces.

  • You always see the numbers behind my advice, and when the data cannot support a recommendation I say so.

A pricing opinion names its comparable sales, a payment carries its rate and its date, and a recommendation I cannot back with a figure is delivered as a judgement and labelled as one.

  • I would rather keep a client for a decade than close a commission this month, so the advice is written for the long run.

Where the option that does not pay me is the better option, you hear it in the same breath, because a client who was told the truth once tends to come back.

  • Military families move on orders and live on allowances, and I plan around that calendar rather than around mine.

The report date sets the timeline, the housing allowance sets the payment, and the desk on this site is built from the published tables so both are in view before the first showing.

The Teal Apex family of companies

The companies that share the Teal Apex name each do a different job.

When a move touches renovation, entity setup, or technology, I can bring the right sister company in rather than sending you to a stranger. The division of work between the three is stated here so it is never blurred in a file.

Teal Apex Group LLC owns this site and the portfolio of applications behind it.

The Group is the parent company. It owns and operates Teal Apex Homes as a marketing and homeowner resource property, and it holds the portfolio of applications that are developed and published under the Group name, so the site and the software answer to one owner.

Teal Apex Solutions LLC is the engineering and advisory practice.

Solutions takes client engagements in custom software, systems architecture, and technical advisory, and it stays anchored in that technical work. When a transaction needs a data pipeline, a portal, or an integration, that work belongs to Solutions rather than to the brokerage.

Teal Apex Management is the advisory and property management side.

Management handles the ground: renovation and project oversight, flip supervision, and the ongoing management of rental property. My advisory work sets up the systems and writes the plan, and Management takes over the moment a project needs someone on site.

Brokerage disclosure and licensing

Brokerage services run through the employing broker named on every page of this site.

Colorado Commission Rule 6.10 requires that all advertising be done clearly and conspicuously in the name of the broker's brokerage firm, and that every viewable page of a broker's website carry that firm's name. The rule requires the brokerage name rather than a license number, so no license number is published here, and the footer of every page carries the name the rule asks for.

Teal Apex Homes is the marketing name of Katrina Hill, a Colorado real estate broker associate with Real. Brokerage services are provided through Real, 999 18th St., Suite 3000, Denver, CO 80202, (720) 807 2980. Equal Housing Opportunity.

The written brokerage relationship disclosure required by Rule 6.5 is delivered before we discuss anything confidential, and the contact page explains what that means for a first conversation.
